Tayside Islamic Centre Madrassah
The aim of the Tayside Islamic Centre Madrassah is to provide students with a secure, safe, Islamic and cultural learning environment. However, in the event of unforeseen circumstances, the teachers, volunteers, staff and the Masjid bear absolutely no legal responsibility of any kind.
Rules and Regulations
Admissions
- The minimum age of admission is 5 years old.
- All students shall be assessed upon admission and at regular periods during their education.
- Administrative decisions such as class allocations, setting of timings, holidays and setting the syllabus shall be made by mutual agreement between the Madrassah Education Committee and the teachers.
Attendance Policy
- All students are responsible for having and maintaining their own Madrassah bag.
- Students are expected to attend every day, as per the timetable, and arrive at the Madrassah on time. In exceptional circumstances, a note should be provided by the parents or guardians.
- It is recommended that every child prepare their lessons for at least half an hour every day at home.
- All absences must be explained by a note from the parent or guardian.
- Any student who leaves the Madrassah without notice or a valid reason will be given three warnings. After this, the Madrassah Education Committee may, with the mutual consent of the teacher, decide to expel the student. Their decision will be final.
- An absence of two weeks or more without notification will automatically terminate the child’s place at the Madrassah if no justifiable reason is provided after consultation with the parents or guardians.
Behaviour for Learning
- Any student whose continued presence at the Madrassah is deemed harmful to other students may be expelled from the Madrassah. In such cases, the decision of the Madrassah Education Committee will be final.
- Any form of disrespect towards teachers is unacceptable. Any student found guilty of such behaviour may be liable for expulsion. In these cases, the decision of the Madrassah Education Committee will be final.
- The Madrassah Education Committee reserves the right to terminate any student’s admission when it deems necessary and has a valid reason.
- Anyone whose admission is terminated shall have no legal remedy against the Madrassah.
Complaints Procedure
- In the event of any dispute or disagreement that cannot be resolved, the matter will be passed to the Madrassah Education Committee.
- Any parent or guardian may arrange a meeting with the teacher or a member of the Madrassah Education Committee by appointment.
Collection by Parents or Guardians
- The Madrassah shall not be responsible for transport arrangements to or from the Madrassah.
- It is the duty of parents or guardians to ensure that their children are dropped off and collected on time.
Student Dress Code
- All students must adhere to the Madrassah uniform requirements.
- Boys should wear a topi or cap and a Jubbah.
- Girls should wear a scarf and an Abayah.
Madrassah Property
- Students should not bring unnecessary items into the Madrassah and must look after their belongings while on the premises.
- The Madrassah shall not accept responsibility for any damage to or loss of a student’s belongings.
- Students and/or their parents or guardians shall be liable for the cost of any damage caused to Madrassah property.
General Rules and Regulations
- The Madrassah reserves the right to amend existing rules or introduce new rules at any time.
