1. Islam’s Beliefs:

3. Five Pillars of Islam:

  • Sawm: Fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
  • Hajj: Making a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca at least once in a lifetime if financially and physically able.

4. The Sunnah:

  • The Sunnah refers to the traditions and practices of the Prophet Muhammad, including his sayings (Hadith) and actions. It provides a supplementary guide to the Quran.

5. Sharia:

  • Sharia is Islamic law, derived from the Quran and the Sunnah, and it provides guidelines for personal and societal behavior, including matters of ethics, morality, and jurisprudence.

6. Places of Worship:

  • Muslims gather for communal prayers at a mosque, and the holiest mosque in Islam is the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca.

7. Islamic Calendar:

  • The Islamic calendar is lunar, consisting of 12 months in a year of 354 or 355 days. It begins with the migration of Muhammad from Mecca to Medina, known as the Hijra.

8. Halal and Haram:

  • Halal refers to what is permissible or lawful in Islam, including food and certain behaviors. Haram refers to what is forbidden or sinful.

9. Sufism:

  • Sufism is a mystical and contemplative branch of Islam that emphasizes a personal and direct connection with God.

10. Diversity within Islam: – There are different schools of thought within Islam, such as Sunni and Shia, each with its own interpretations and traditions. Additionally, there are many cultural and regional variations in practice and belief.
